Our children and parents start together each Sunday in worship. Sunday School begins with "Children Time" in worship and then the children depart for their curriculum directed activities in our Sunday School building. Following worship children are dismissed to their parents and all are welcome to join the congregation for a time of sharing in our fellowship hall.

Our goal is to offer our children an inspiring, loving, joyful and consistent environment in which to learn about God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, and the Spirit that unites us as a congregation. We seek a fair balance of shared responsibilities for adults, and an environment for our children that provides as much continuity as possible. We need parents and the entire congregation to model Christian community and love for our children. To accomplish that, the Christian Education Committee has created a Covenant of Caring and Sharing with a link to it at the left.
Our Sunday School year is composed of 5 semesters, each lasting eight (8) Sundays. We ask that each person on a teaching team commit to teach eight (8) Sunday School classes during the year in as consecutive a manner as is possible. This will provide many benefits for both the students and the teachers. Please click our Covenant of Caring and Sharing to sign up to volunteer for teaching or assist teaching. Our Director of Children's Ministries, Nikki Foster, is available to train, guide, and support our entire teaching staff at all levels.
Nursery Program
Our Nursery is where we welcome and care for our littlest ones. Often, it's the first place where new families are welcomed. By becoming part our Nursery family, they meet other families and experience the loving community of faith that is the heart of First Church.
