Annual Events: (Event links below may refer to current or past events.)
In September at First Church we become very involved with our Annual Church Fair which involves almost everyone in our church. Our fair is sponsored by and held on the grounds of Redding's historical First Church Congregational Church, Redding center, Connecticut. Our church faces the town green and will use this space also for setting up the varied craft booths.
About one month after the Annual Church Fair, Cibo - The Award-Winning Manhattan Restaurant of New York makes its annual visit to Fellowship Hall to put on an elegant, multi-course dinner as a fundraiser to benefit First Church.
In mid-spring Outreach usually sponsors a group from our church to work on the AmeriCares Home Front Project at a location accessible from our church.
On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend the Men's Group sponsors the Memorial Day Parade Food Booth on the Redding Green. In just a few minutes at the end of the parade hundreds of hotdogs and cold drinks are sold.
In mid-summer there usually is an extensive Outreach Mission trip to help with the Boscobel Church in Jamaica or some other project.
In late summer the Men's Group sponsors a 3 or 4-day food booth at the Annual Mark Twain Library Book Fair at the Senior center.
Prior to Thanksgiving, our youth groups participated in a Thanksgiving Basket Brigade which supplies food to needy individuals and families at a time that should be a joyful time for all--except for the very real hunger problems in our midst.
Before Christmas, a group of our church members sponsors the Doves Project which enlists volunteers to buy and package inexpensive Christmas gifts for needy children and adults.
In the 2nd week of December, a not-to-be-missed event is our Live Nativity Pageant, our church's unique and popular celebration of the Christmas story! Join us as we sing carols and follow the journey of Mary and Joseph with their donkey, to the manger in Bethlehem. Along the way, you'll observe shepherds tending their flocks by night, you'll hear a chorus of angels, you'll be dazzled by a "star in the east", and you'll see the wise men in route to worship the Newborn King. The journey culminates with a live tableau of the Nativity Scene in the studio.

As-Needed Events:
